Natural disasters are becoming more frequent. People who thought they were immune are now being impacted.

Last fall, I followed Emma Churchman’s unfolding story on Facebook about living in the wake of Hurricane Helene, as she and her husband navigated living without power, internet, cell phone service, or even functional roads. Her story has now become a book.

January 29 at 7:36 AM there is a New Moon in the sign Aquarius. 24 hours before the new moon make a wish….write it down. draw it. activate the intention in some way to acknowledge your ask. Wishcraft.

In Aquarius we are called to serve our family, our community. This lunation is sounding a call, to share the gifts we carry in our hearts in a deeper way.

“As each person completes himself or herself and contributes what is authentic a new paradigm emerges, circularity.

At rest it is a circle and in motion a spiral. . . .If we think of nature as a circle then we are part of its reciprocity. Progress means interdependence. If we respect nature and each living thing as a microcosm of nature, we respect the unique miracle of ourselves. And so we come full circle. Limits gradually disappear.”- Gloria Steinem

Do you know that where Aquarius is in your birth chart you are called to be just plain weird to so called `normal’ people? A true Aquarius person never fits in with the norm. They are out ahead of the collective, making new ways, activating new frequencies.

How comfortable are you in `not fitting in’? If you call yourself a light worker then hop on the bus and stop trying to make yourself conform to a way that isn’t unique to you. I am talking to that part of you who sees new trends and unconventional approaches to life.

In Aquarius we can see the bigger picture, serve the larger world view.

How do I find it?

It may be buried in what you most fear. Fear of embodying and embracing your power. Manifesting. Having your dreams become reality.

If you have a dream (big or small).

Figure out what you want to create, ask for the obstacles to reveal themselves…appreciate the resistance and don’t bully yourself to push yourself through the obstacle.

Reader I’m making different choices this year for myself and the “biz.”

One awareness I still love designing. Yet I had walked away from that gift for a number of reasons, there was grief attached. New aha’s showed up. I started asking “What would it take to produce design drawings for contractors and home owners?”

To kick off 2025 hubs and I decided to renovate the primary bathroom. The previous owner in 2013 took the wall down, installed glass block. Today the shower tile is failing, the slope in the shower is too steep and the tile floors she choose are too slippery. It’s a nightmare.

AND there is no door. When you walk into the bathroom you’re faced with looking at the toilet. It’s very awkward.

Over the holidays I redesigned the bathroom by turning the shower then reorienting the toilet at the end of the vanity so the shower is the focal point. With bid documents ready I reached out to three contractors for pricing. The 2nd contractor looked at my drawings asking “would you be willing to design and draw for me?”

Bingo. One of my joy wishes in 2025.

Your joy may be as simple as making a choice. Figuring out the obstacle and letting the magic start flowing again.

What gives me joy in 2025? Asking that question, asking my body I realized teaching lights me up, 1:1 sessions the way I structured them not so much.*

New Bold Dreams for 2025? To create art; to work in wood and clay, in the form of altar pieces. I always wanted to take wood shop. What would it take? That’s on my joy list in 2025.

I found renewed joy in designing spaces for people. Designing kitchens. That’s on my joy list in 2025.

What’s on your joy list for 2025? As you greet this first New Moon in Aquarius with Pluto in Aquarius on January 29th, dust off your joy list. Trust yourself and your vision.

My work as a shamanic teacher is teaching you how to come out into the world with your spiritual gifts, talents and capacities with ease and joy. Helping you heal from past trauma (this life and others) so you recognize your intuitive gifts from spirit while planting seeds of inspiration.

I will continue to do that work while carrying a drum and singing my healing songs. An important part of this endeavor is creating safe places for you (healers, teachers, mentors) to gather and speak your truth without fear of retribution.

Here’s what’s been working and learning me the last week…

Aunt Dot’s been on my mind….in 1959 when I was three years old my great aunt died at the early age of 57 from ovarian cancer. She was the hell raiser in my very conservative methodist family.

Methodists were not allowed to smoke, drink, dance, play cards, watch movies, read the Sunday newspapers or go swimming on Sundays. The church commanded respect and the sabbath was to be kept: my great aunt was having none of it. She moved away at an early age marrying her beloved: a college professor.

Her diagnosis came out of nowhere and death was going to be quick. There was a lot of discussion on whether Aunt Dot would get into heaven from the Aunties. The Aunties justified their position with the bible quote “it’s easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

My rebellious-smoking, drinking, card playing mother argued this belief was archaic, cruel and judgmental to heap upon her aunt- a kindhearted soul. A woman, mother, sister, aunt who was facing death and leaving her children and husband. Aunt Dot never gave in to the sisters’ demands. Living her own life to the end of her days.

My grandmother’s attitude colors my world at the moment in light of the recent election. Like you I’m finding my way through all of it. As with the pandemic my helping allies are saying “TEACH everything you know” opt-in for joy and creativity. That is how I’m approaching my work in 2025.

Every time Pluto change of signs…collectively we are in “an eye of the needle moment.”

Pluto re-enters Aquarius on November 19, 2024…What does that mean for you personally, for your community and collectively? How does that connect you to creativity and joy?

When Pluto is on you it’s like entering the eye of the needle. There is an ask to let go…so you can move forward in a new way…. honing in on what really matters.

When Pluto changes signs that “honing in” energy is amplified.

Pluto in Aquarius for the first time in 248 years. He will stay there until 2044. It’s going to be a long slog through Aquarius. Let’s anchor in joy and creativity. I’ll talk more about that at the free taster. If you have any questions just hit reply.

Big hello Reader,

Taking the summer off to write my memoir….led to the truth of needing more time.

The first two months I write nothing…sitting in freeze mode. then flipping it and giving myself permission to not write.

Not do anything. I’ve worked steady since the age of twelve. Entrepreneur since 24. The “business ME” feeling like she’s always doing. so cutting myself some slack.

To break through the writing ennui I ask “what can I do?” “what will be fun?” My guidance said draw them; which means opening up my cad* program to build in plan form all the floorplans of my childhood homes (ages 0-14). Zillow becomes my friend.

There are markers in your life.

The Befores.

The Afters.

The house at…

The River House.
The Osborne Lane House.
480 Irving Ave House.

Four houses in New Jersey.

Five house in Florida (ages 14-18)… Every move is tied to money. Being broke, making money, having money, losing money, borrowing money. The cycle repeating itself over and over again.

All the houses gift me their before and after stories.

When you go back into the past you’re excavating memories. Each house has a story to share about family, love, money and power. Those childhood houses spoke their messages to me. Laying the foundation for the story aka memoir.

In your life there may be a theme present to each house you’ve lived in… there may be joy. There may be soul loss. A theme will emerge. For me it’s around belonging, connection, safety, isolation and abandonment.

When I start writing there are bits and pieces scattered through the years… of writing then stopping. 20,000 words here. Digital journals there. Making my way through it.

At times the content became too much for my psyche and Word program so I edited and sorted all of the digital content into Scrivener.​

At 150,000 words there’s enough content for two books; the “shitty first draft” is done, and now being distilled. So yay!

The Sun moves into Scorpio tomorrow, details below. I am also hosting the Initiate Retreat: Doodles to Design your 2025 coming up in December which I’ll be sending out more information next week. Stay tuned.

The Sun enters Scorpio tomorrow, Tuesday October 22nd at 6:14pm Eastern. In mid-November Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio will be leaving the sign Capricorn where he’s been traveling since 2008. When the Sun moves through Scorpio it is about letting go. When the Sun moves through Scorpio and meets up with the Moon (aka the Scorpio New Moon) it ACTIVATES long hidden emotions. That’s happening November 1st.

The deep mucky, shi#$5ty stuff from the depths of our psyche. It’s a good time to excavate emotions stuck in your mental, emotional and physical body. The ask is to surrender them. To let go. Embracing the death of the old way to birth the new.

What are you ready to harvest so you can plant great intentions next spring? Change (death of the old way) may seem at first painful and scary. You’re invited to dig deep while the Sun moves through the sign Scorpio. Expect breakthroughs. Two weeks after breaking my ankle and subsequent surgery I hobbled into Ellen’s healing room.

A month prior Ellen, on a healing quest to cure her breast cancer leaves Fort Lauderdale, travels to Esalen Institute in California to meet with Don Oscar. Fun fact, Don Oscar lives up the road in Palm Beach, Florida.

Hobbling into the room on crutches a beautiful altar is laid out on the floor… the air is buzzing. Teetering trying to keep my balance with the ankle still in a cast. “Look here” the shaman says, “right between my eyes, now don’t look away.”

Taking swigs from one of the bottles he spit-sprays the liquid elixir mist all over me as the scent of flowers fills the space within and around me.

Staring at me he says “You have trained with many people of power, now it’s time for you to carry your own medicine bag.”

The next session the power song starts flowing through me as gifts to clients during their soul retrieval sessions.

A decade after the “index card experience” my helping ally- one of the names on the index card- tells me it’s time to learn heart centered shamanic Depossession, so I travel to Wisconsin to be in the circle.

I’m also here to visit the Indian mounds. They’re calling me. After checking into my room, putting the suitcase on the bed I look out the window as the sun is setting…. The deep indigo blue-sky contrasts with the dusty rust-golden colored wheat field.

WHAM.
It’s the EXACT SAME LANDSCAPE SCENE as the painted index card.
Whoa. Que the Twilight Zone music.

Everyone’s buzzing with excitement as we exit the bus at the effigy mounds. I walk up the path with reverence, quietly singing and rattling… before I know it, I’m walking in two worlds…I’m also seeing water and hearing the words “What happened to the water?”

In the “LONG Before” I’m seeing the verdant green mounds are surrounded by water; there are hollowed-out boats arriving for the rituals and celebrations. There’s dancing, singing and drumming. So much joy. When it’s time to leave the mounds that day I give thanks for the visions, the spirits of the land and the gifts bestowed.

Later that evening the teacher asks the circle to set up an experiential representation of the mounds in the meeting room. Everyone takes their assigned place…

The room is pitch dark, there’s only candlelight on the altar.

My ally says, “why is no one singing?”

“You’re representing the 13th moon.”

I’m standing on the 13th mound. 13 mounds representing the 13 moons. As I rattle…. a song is rising… I question….

“NOW, really?”

“YES! SING”, she replies. Sing the song of the “LONG Before”…. into the future.

Throwing off my cloak of anonymity… I feel someone next to me; my eyes slightly open as the teacher puts her recording device at my feet.

After the session I’m buzzing with energy…expanded. Other people in the circle are now coming up touching me. It’s uncomfortable.

The next morning the teacher asks if I’m willing to set up the experiential mound in the meeting room again this evening using my recorded “LONG Before” power song.

“No, that’s not going to work for me.” Even though she’s disappointed I hold firm to the boundary.

“People are asking for the song. Can I release the song to the students who are here?”

“Can you teach me how to unhook from people psychically reaching in while listening to the power song?”

My question is met with silence. It’s a big NO.

Now fifteen years later I understand it’s all a dance; I’m learning the steps as a newbie medium, how to hold a clear yes and a clear no. My energetic body was not ready to hold that space for others, that will come with time.

Within a year I’m singing power songs and sending them out into my community at each new moon. Playing in the “Long Before.”

Yesterday I learned from a Facebook post that the effigy mounds thousands of years ago, in the “Long Before” were indeed surrounded by water.

In Aquarius you are called to be the pioneer… to gather up our stories… from the “there and then” and the “here and now”; these are seeds asking to be planted. The world needs the power of our songs.

I am the One who is an Interstellar Magi dancing in the “LONG Before.”

Celebrating Ellen’s legacy on her 74th birthday.

“I went to see this guy…and he creates the cards. He’s holding sessions this weekend if you want to go.”

Fascinated I make the reservation…. showing up at the small church meeting room in the back of a storefront. There are 15-20 people of us there to see this fella’s presentation. I’m not sure what is going to happen.

Then the plain dressed man of the hour walks into the room and stands at the podium; he starts speaking about his spiritual guide. He talks about love and joy.

Then he unwraps a new pack of white index cards bought at Office Depot….he asks an audience member to verify the cards are blank. Then like a magician he shows us an empty lidded wicker basket before tossing the index cards into the basket.

He then throws random art media- colored pencils, colored pens, pencils, crayons…all go into the basket that is now closed. He shakes the basket, puts it on the table and then starts speaking about love…and connecting with your spiritual guides. He channels information and answers questions from the audience.

I remember none of what is said.

Fifteen minutes later he opens the basket and starts pulling the cards out of the basket. Each previously white card is now colored with different pictures.

Each audience member is CALLED by name (the name is written on the back of the index card). I walk up as my name is called…. and handed a picture card.

My card shows a painted a deep indigo blue sky contrasting with the dusty rust-golden colored wheat field. In the sky white birds flying over the land. My index card is also beautifully hand colored- I can even see the colored pencil marks. Turning the index card over there are 5-6 signatures in different handwriting, script and color. One signature leaps out at me.

Reader astrology found me in April of 1996. A random conversation with a friend led me to a local astrology meeting that captivated me… I stayed learning with that gifted teacher for the next eight years.

Learning my personal story of astrology helped me heal…especially tracking the moon through my birth chart. Astrology is not a thinking thing…it’s multidimensional-a felt expression in your body… a tool for transformation.

Astrology is a sacred language…but there are so many facets that most often it feels like one is trying to take a drink out of a firehouse. It can overwhelm a person, so you are constantly seeking the information from others. I recommend to clients and students they work only with the Moon for a year or two…then Mercury, then Venus….so you’re taking smaller sips.

During the early days of learning astrology I started collaging my connections to the planetary energies. Here’s my SoulCollage® card for Pluto “I am the One who REBUILDS with Pluto.”

Pluto enters Aquarius on Saturday… there’s lots of hype about this online. Pluto asks for depth…his is an inward journey. As an agent of transformation this archetype takes things apart, renders them… then puts you back together.

“In Pluto’s realm, there is no safety in the fiction of fixed identity we create out of our external stage props: career, clothes, house, relationships. When these start tumbling down…the experiences can be harrowing….” -Caroline Casey, astrologer.

The highlighted area of your birth chart is Aquarius. That’s where Pluto’s action is for the next 21 years… it’s a long slow slog through that area of your life. You don’t have to do anything… take care of what’s bubbling up. Trust your intuitive knowing. Trust your body.

Pay attention to the ASK at the Aquarius and Leo NEW and FULL moons. Both the new and full moon happens over the next 30 days. This is the first time Pluto is there.

On January 25th there’s a Leo Full Moon and then the Aquarius New Moon on February 9th, 2024.
